Mission Statement:

To promote veganism/vegetarianism and expose the atrocities on Factory Farms. Fifty billion animals are slaughtered each year for food, worldwide; and each day millions of people consume their flesh and by-products for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

To promote environmental concerns linked to Factory Farms and animal agriculture.

To promote the health benefits and concerns of a vegetarian and vegan diet.

To act as a support group for those who are/or becoming vegetarian or vegan.

Goals:

Create awareness and educate the campus community on veganism, environmental concerns of Factory Farms, and the health benefits and concerns of a vegan diet.

Direct Action:

YSEARC maintains a non-violent approach to activism.

YSEARC attempts to reduce/eliminate animal suffering by:

  • Leafleting - either through educational tables or walking.
  • Video Screenings - show graphic videos or educational documentaries to the public.
  • Potluck Dinners - exposing the public to vegan food.
  • Speakers - bringing in national speakers on animal rights
  • Giving Talks - members present to various college classes, as well as local high schools.
